Volunteers are needed to participate in every aspect of Habitat for Humanity of Prairie Lakes.

We need lots of people to participate in our home building. Many people, from professionals to construction novices, love to do that best. But we also need volunteers with experience, interest, and energy for all the work that supports the construction of our homes and our partnership with our habitat families: family selection and partnership, fundraising, events organizing, volunteer coordination, newsletter production and distribution, fiscal management. We need artists, writers, bakers, collators, bookkeepers, as well as carpenters and painters. So please fill out one of our survey forms listed below and mail it in, and attend a chapter meeting to make yourself known to the other Habitat activists in your area. Some of our volunteers have the time and energy for major ongoing responsibilities. Others like to just show up and do their thing when they are needed and the timing is right. We need and welcome you all.

Interest forms:    Pope County  or  Stevens County
Print, fill out and mail to address listed on top of form.

Volunteer release forms:   Adult  or Minor
Release forms can be used for both chapters. Print and have completed when you come to the work site.

Non-Monetary Donations

Habitat is always appreciative of donations of services and materials:

  • Contractors may contribute to our builds by sending work crews for free or discounting a needed contract service.
  • Church or civic groups who want to volunteer to work together for one or more days add welcome numbers and energy to our builds. Volunteers can provide a hot lunch to the construction crew on any given work day.
  • Donations of construction materials are critical in keeping our costs down and allow us to build more homes.
  • Administrative services, equipment and material: Some businesses have donated business equipment and/or office materials. We try to keep our “overhead” to the minimum so we can put all those donated dollars into the homes we build with our partner families. Please call if you or your business has something to offer.
  • We always need Land! Land! Land!
